Juniors Starlets Head Coach Mildred Cheche has officially named the provisional squad ahead of the upcoming FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Namibia. The two-legged tie, we will kick off with the first leg scheduled for April 12, 2026 in Windhoek, then the decisive second leg on April 18, 2026, in Nairobi.
Coach Mildred Cheche has put together a well-balanced squad, blending experience from previous international assignments with emerging talent with the aim to secure a place on the global stage once again. Coach Cheche, successfully led the Kenya U17 women's team, the Junior Starlets, to their first-ever FIFA U17 Women's World Cup qualification in 2024,at the Dominican Republic from October 16 to November 3, 2024.
She became the first Kenyan coach to lead a national team to a FIFA World Cup. Her hard work was recognized, with the honour of the Head of State Commendation (H.S.C) awarded by President William Ruto on Mashujaa Day, October 20, 2025.
The Junior Starlets are determined to make a strong statement in the first leg in Namibia, leveraging their home advantage in Nairobi to seal qualification in front of their supporters.
